My Top 3 TRUSTED Sources of Information

Trusted Sources of Information

So, you’ve done your hypnobirthing course and now you’re sitting down to put together your KILLER birth plan! You’re researching all the different interventions you may be offered, what rights you have, birth place options…

But there is just so much information out there. Who do you trust? A lot of it is conflicting…and downright confusing…or dare I say…deliberately misleading?

So I have put together my Top 3 sources of birth information that I trust along with links. These sources are evidence based and my absolute go-to’s for any queries I have. These are also the sources that I recommend to my clients when they’re putting together their birth plans.

I hope you find it useful in your decision making.

Dr Sara Wickham -

Sara Wickham is a midwife/researcher/educator and women’s birth rights advocate. She’s written many books and articles on controversial subjects such as Group B Strep and the over use of Inductions.

Birth Rights -

This site is a great source for all your legal rights during pregnancy and child birth. You may be faced with statements such as “That goes against our policy,” or “We can’t let you do that.” which may go against your legal rights as a birthing person. Make sure you are well armed to be able to advocate for yourself.

AIMS -

Association for Improvements in Maternity Services have been campaigning since 1960 for improvements in the UK maternity service to give women the birth that they want and have a helpline for anyone wanting advice regarding navigating the maternity system. Their website is chock full of guidance for common and not so common issues that may arise along your journey.
